In the week we all wept as Peggy Mitchell took her own life, fans of Gogglebox were shocked to see no reaction on the episode. Apparently Gogglebox's editing team decided to cut it from the show, saying their reactions were just too distressing.
Lynne McGarry (pictured above) who appears alongside her husband Pete and son George, explained the episode conjured up some bad memories.
"Pete broke down because he thought of how him and his brother felt when they lost their mum," McGarry told the Daily Star.
"He said to me, 'When that happens you don't want to accept it. You want to hold on for as long as you can. You don't want to let them go.'
"The producers said it was too sad to show. The families all showed their emotions so much because it reminded them of losing someone," she continued.
"All three of us were sitting there and one by one we broke down."
Peggy's funeral is set to cause more tears in upcoming episodes when Peggy is laid to rest. EastEnders is back at 8pm on BBC One Monday. Gogglebox airs Friday night's on Channel 4.
